The 2018/2019 school calendar has been approved by the SD72 Board of Education.
The school year will begin Sept. 4, features seven professional development days, two student lead conference days and a 10 day Spring break with the last day of classes being June 27.
This calendar is a revision of the originally proposed calendar that featured five early dismissal days to make time for the extra five hours of professional development time mandated by the Ministry of Education.
After the proposed calendar went to the public for feedback the board heeded the overwhelmingly negative response and directed the superintendant to create a calendar that did not include early dismissal days.
