The Abbotsford school district’s projected enrolment decline reversed itself, according to a final count submitted to the Ministry of Education.
The district had projected a decrease of 120 students, which would have resulted in the loss of four full-time-equivalent teaching positions.
But the final count showed a total enrolment across the district of 18,625 students, eight more than had been projected and three more than had enrolled in the district last year.
The district said much of the increase came from secondary schools.
