The clatter of teacups and aroma of freshly baked goods filled the hall of Isabella Dicken Elementary last Thursday as the school hosted its annual Spring Tea.

Wearing their smartest clothes, Grade Six students served their families, classmates and members of the public, who dined on sponge cake, juice and tea.

The Spring Tea is a long-standing tradition at IDES and raises funds for classroom activities.

“The Grade Sixes, this is their big day to shine, they get to serve everybody that comes in,” said Parent Advisory Committee member Patty Villasenor.

“We offer dessert and tea, and we raise funds through ticket sales and the bake sale. We have a book fair as well.”

Families of students provided baked goods for the sale, while food and drink items for the Spring Tea were provided by local supermarkets, Your Independent Grocer and Save-On-Foods.
