During the season we had many weekly best hands, which consisted of quad A’s (twice); quad Q’s (Four of a kind); quad J’s; quad 10’s; quad 5’s; A full of Q; A full of 10; A full of 9; Q full of K; and 8 full of A.
Each evening of play the player who records the highest-ranking hand with the tournament director is rewarded with 100 extra points. There is also an extra 100 points awarded to the player who takes out the bounty player. The bounty player is the player who won the game the previous week.
We also award the player who wins with a starting hand of 7 – 2 (seven- deuce), considered one of the worst hands to play, with an extra 100 points. Some evenings we have had several players lucky enough to collect the extra 100 points.
Winners of the Season 31 Tournament are: 1, Terri Searls; 2, Nathan Mikkelsen; and 3, Cheryl MacHale. The highest hand of the tournament was a full house consisting of KKKQQ.
Play for Season 32 commenced on Oct. 2 and ends Dec. 11 with the tournament on Dec. 18. There’s no poker game during the Christmas holidays. Season 33 will start the beginning of January, 2020.
