The latest snowfall warning from Environment Canada calls for 15 to 25 centimetres for B.C.’s south coast.
On Monday afternoon, the ministry said a second low-pressure centre in as many days will bring more snow that night and into the next morning.

“Snow will intensify early this evening on Vancouver Island, then later tonight over the Lower Mainland. It will taper off gradually during the day Tuesday,” the warning said.
This was after a heavy storm on Sunday afternoon, which followed a snow warning calling for 10 to 15 centimetres.
Schools were closed in Surrey, Langley, Nanaimo-Ladysmith, Cowichan, the Gulf Islands and the Sunshine Coast on Monday. Other districts were assessing the situation, with up to 40 centimetres of snow in some regions, coupled with icy overnight conditions.

Thousands of BC Hydro customers were also without power during the freeze, most of them on eastern Vancouver Island.
