A vehicle struck a utility pole, causing cables to sag to the ground across the highway approximately 10 kilometres north of Qualicum Beach on Friday morning (Jan. 15).
With the pole slanted and wires dangling dangerously, the section of the road along Highway 19A between Laburnum Road and Goodyear Road had to be closed to traffic for several hours until the damage was repaired.
Oceanside RCMP attended the incident.
