This week, the Golden-Field RCMP had 86 calls for service including 13 abandoned 911’s, 20 traffic complaints, and two weapons calls.

On September 13 just after 10 p.m. the Golden-Field RCMP were advised that a father and his young son from Golden went hunting and failed to return home at 8 p.m. as expected.

Police immediately activated Golden and District Search and Rescue. Police were able to locate the two prior to a search commencing.

“The vehicle they were driving had broken down and they were not in an area with cell reception,” says Cst. Spencer Lainchbury with the Golden-Field RCMP.

On September 10, the Golden-Field RCMP along with RCMP Traffic Services responded to a two vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Field.

One person was seriously injured and was transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Calgary.

Highway 1 was closed for approximately three hours and has since re-opened.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.

No further updates are available at this time.
