Seven properties selling on high-profile corner of Maple Ridge

Lots on south side of Lougheed Highway, plans unknown

Seven small lots in a high-profile part of Maple Ridge are in the process of selling, though it’s not yet certain what the future plans are for the property.

Realtor David Kearney, who sold six of the single-family lots on the south side of the 22100-block of Lougheed Highway, said the properties will change hands at the middle of this month, with a seventh lot also in the process.

He said two of the current permitted uses of the property under the official community plan are either multi-family residential or a long-term care facility.

But he’s not sure what the purchaser’s plan are.

He said the plans for the sales have been in the works for most of the year, but once underway, the deal came together in a few months.

“It’s good news for the Maple Ridge community. The whole community is the sleeping giant of the Lower Mainland and I believe there’s a ton of potential for the future of Maple Ridge coming up. It’s a prime-development, opportunity corridor.”

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure is currently working on improvements to the 222nd Street/Haney Bypass and Lougheed Highway intersection, but designs won’t be completed until next spring.
