It was a busy city council meeting in Castlegar on July 13.
One highlight was a decision by council to provide a one-time, pre-approved license for restaurants that apply for a expanded service area during the COVID-19 crisis. Restaurants can have the expanded service area until Oct. 31.
Council also supported a $10,000 grant application for a sewage plant feasibility study. The study will look at the costs of diverting city wastewater to the North Sewage Lagoon and required infrastructure to treat additional flow.
Amendment were also approved for two different bylaws to allow urban beekeeping and backyard chickens on Castlegar properties.
Starting Aug. 31, the city said committee of the whole meetings will be held at 2 p.m. while regular council meetings will be held at 7 p.m.
