Penticton RCMP still need help identifying a sexual assault suspect who grabbed a woman and pulled her into a secluded path near Webyurn Street on the night of Dec. 3.
As of Wednesday, police confirmed that they have not identified the man in the video surveillance pictures.
Police also clarified the distance discrepancy between where she was walking near Granby Ave. and Atkinson to where she was attacked near Weyburn St.,which is about one kilometre away.
“There’s reason to believe the suspect followed the victim between these distances, before confronting her near Weyburn St.” said Const. James Grandy.
The victim was attacked at approximately 10:30 p.m.
The male blocked her path, grabbed her hand and pulled her into a secluded pedestrian path near Weyburn Street.
At one point, the suspect identified himself by the name “Adam.”
The suspect is described as Caucasian with dark tan skin, six feet tall, slim muscular build, approximately 20-30 years of age, dark eyes, and short light brown hair with a short pony tail at the centre of his head.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man captured on video surveillance. This person of interest is believed to have been in the area at the time. Police are still wanting to speak with him.
