Mounties in Nanaimo apprehended a man last week for allegedly trying to pick fights with customers at a convenience store.
According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, police responded to the 7-Eleven store on Bowen Road at about 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14 after reports that a man had been challenging customers to fight outside the store and had refused to leave the premises in spite of being asked to do so by store employees.
When officers arrived, the man appeared to be “shadow boxing” against his reflection in the store’s outside windows.
The release notes that police attempted to talk to the man before arresting him for mischief. He spent the night in a cell at the Nanaimo RCMP detachment and was released the following morning without charges.
