Sham sex romp prompts call to Trail police

This case is one of many from the weekend that Sgt. Mike Wicentowich reported on Monday

Here’s one that might top the list of dirty deeds for 2018 in Greater Trail.

Reports of sex romp in a laundry room had police responding to an apartment building in Rossland on Friday.

“The Trail and Greater District RCMP Detachment conducted an investigation into a male and female suspect reported having intercourse in the laundry room,” Sgt. Mike Wicentowich revealed in a Monday news release.

“It turned out intercourse was faked in order to clear people out of the laundry room so the male could steal change from the washing machines.”

The alleged crime happened in the 1500 block of Nickleplate Road.

The male and female suspect were both caught and and theft charges are being pursued against both of them, Wicentowich added.

“Both the male and female were known to police.”

The two are scheduled to make their first appearance on Feb. 7 in Rossland Provincial Court.

Sgt. Wicentowich reported a number of crimes from Dec. 13 to Dec. 16 in a Monday news release.

More to come.
