It’s going to cost more to use water at Silver Star.
The Regional District of North Okanagan has increased rates by 3.2 per cent, which is about $10 per year for the average residential user.
“This increase is to compensate for an increase in the Silver Star operating budget and decrease revenues from the past two years,” said James de Pfyffer, small utilities manager.
RDNO has also adopted a small utilities rates imposition bylaw.
The bylaw consolidates the following utilities into one structure: Grindrod water, Gunter Ellison Road water, Mabel Lake water, Mabel Lake sewer and Whitevale water.
“It provides standardized definitions, standardized rates and fees for similar services and reduces administration costs,” said de Pfyffer.
