Similkameen trails group hard at work

Volunteers are working to repair benches along the trail in the Lower Similkameen

Members of Similkameen Trails have been busy this spring refurbishing the benches along the old railway right-of-way in Keremeos. The benches were originally built by Brian Dunn of Similkameen Trails approximately 10 years ago. The benches have stood the test of time, but needed sanding and re-painting. To date 15 of 22 benches have been sanded and re-painted, with the remainder slated for completion within the next month.

The Village of Keremeos generously supplied a donation to cover the cost of paint and other supplies for the project. Mayor Manfred Bauer said, “Council greatly appreciates the work done by volunteers of Similkameen Trails Society”.

Similkameen Trails welcomes new members. Membership forms are available at the Village of Keremeos Office.
