Single-lane road concerns RCMP after Highlands motorcycle crash

Motorcycle injured in collision with truck on Ross Durrance Road

A motorcycle and a truck collided on a one-lane road in Highlands on Thursday afternoon.

Both drivers were in their 50s and crashed on Ross Durrance Road around 3 p.m.

“It was a really bad blind spot and a tight curve,” said Sgt. Max Fossum, West Shore RCMP. “There was no room for the truck and the bike.”

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a compound fracture to one of his legs.  The truck sustained minor damage and the driver reported no injuries.

West Shore RCMP are contacting agencies regarding safety concerns with the road and past crashes at this location.
