A single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Goldstream Provincial Park had traffic at a standstill late Friday morning.
West Shore RCMP said officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on the shoulder of the Trans-Canada Highway southbound lane, just south of Goldstream Provincial Park, shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.
Police said a 2014 Jeep Wrangler had gone off the road, hitting the rock wall and rolling onto the driver’s side.
The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was unharmed. Police said an impaired driving investigation ensued because the driver was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Police noted the driver was issued an immediate roadside prohibition from driving and the vehicle was towed.

Both north and southbound lanes were shut down for about 40 minutes while emergency crews attended the scene and the vehicle was cleared from the shoulder.
Shortly after noon on Friday, Drive BC tweeted that the incident was cleared, but delays due to congestion should still be expected.
