The company that will operate the Skaha Marina has been chosen.
Randy and Karen Gallagher received the highest score in the request for proposal process that the city initiated on Jan. 22 for the purpose os seeking a company interested in operating the facility for a period of two years, followed by an optional one-year extension if needed.

“We are excited to begin working on immediate upgrades and amenities to the marina, including a valet and storage service for marine vessels, a non-licensed coffee bistro, boat rentals, surf and charter services and infrastructure improvements,” said Randy Gallagher in a news release.
A total of four submissions were received and scored based on criteria which included – business and financial plans, along with experience.
“We look forward to seeing the Skaha Marina in operation this year. The proposal submitted provides for quality short-term investment into the facility,” said director of development services, Anthony Haddad. “We recognize the important role that parks play in our community as a significant, natural and recreational public asset and look forward to working with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee in commencing the visioning and community engagement process for the long-term Master Plan for Skaha Lake Park this year.”
The Gallagher’s, are long-term residents with deep roots in the community and support various not-for-profit groups through their Wibit Waterpark business.
