Skateboard attack leads to sexual assault investigation

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 111 calls for service from May 9th, 8 AM till May 12th, 8 AM.

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 111 calls for service from May 9th, 8 AM till May 12th, 8 AM. During the same time period there have been 22 people lodged in Terrace Cells. Of these people 17 were lodged for intoxication.

Here is a list of the calls they responded to:

Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart apprehended two boys ages 13 and 12 yrs for shoplifting. Police turned the boys over to their respective parents. They are banned from Walmart. Under investigation.

An intoxicated man yelling and throwing a bicycle around on Emerson St/Park Ave. The man attempted to assault a police officer with the bike. The 41 yr old man was arrested.

A man stated that he was jumped by a man and had a gun held to his head. Investigation determined that this was a false report.

A grey 2007 Chevrolet Station wagon and a brown 2003 Dodge Caravan backed into each other in the McDonald’s parking lot causing minor damage to both. The Dodge was parked illegally in a handicapped zone and the driver of the Chevrolet failed to display an N.

Domestic assault. A woman sustained minor injuries. Police arrested a 39 yr old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A grey 2012 Dodge truck was pulled over on Hwy 113 near McConnell Ave over for going 113 km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone. The vehicle was impounded.

Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 39 yr old man for shoplifting. Police arrested the man and are forwarding charges to Crown Counsel.

A man having an altercation with woman at the Terrace Arena. The man left. Police were called back and arrested the 31 yr old man for breaching a no contact condition of his probation order. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. Police arrested the man again the next day for breaching the no contact condition of his probation order again. Police held the man for court.

A man was struck with a skate board. Investigation led to police investigating a sexual assault. Under investigation.

A white 2005 Ford Focus in the ditch on Clark St. The 21 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. She was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle she was driving was impounded.

While police were dealing with a party under the Hwy 16 bridge one of the police cars was vandalized. Police arrested a 13 yr old boy. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Staff of Copperside caught a 14 yr old boy for shoplifting. Police turned the boy over to his parent.

A man became angry after he was asked to leave an area on Emerson St/Lazelle Ave. He punched out the window of a business in the area. Under investigation.

Four calls were received of a boat with no motor nor any contents floating down the Skeena River with nobody in it. Police consulted with other agencies. It was deemed likely the boat floated away due to recent high waters.

A small white dog missing from a truck parked at Walmart.

Police observed a man walking with a bottle of alcohol on Sparks St. Police arrested the intoxicated 18 yr old man for breaching a no consume and no possess alcohol condition of his probation order. The man is held for court.

Police pulled over a green 1999 Dodge minivan when it crossed the center line and almost collided head on with them. The 39 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
