Look in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s a person skydiving without a parachute.
Or so, that’s what some people reported to Vernon RCMP Sunday afternoon.
Police received a call shortly after noon that a person had come down from the sky without his parachute.
“Our member attended and spoke with the skydiver, a man, who had in fact come down with his reserve chute,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
“The skydiver told our member that his main chute had not opened properly and he had to cut away and land with his second one.”
This, according to Molendyk, was no big deal for the skydiver.
“He told us it had happened to him six previous times. Yes, six times,” said Molendyk.
The skydiver was uninjured.
