The plume of smoke above Ootischenia is nothing to worry about.
The smoke is coming from the burning of a slash pile accumulated from clearing land to make room for the future Elkview Estates.
Land clearing and lot servicing started in the fall and crews have been waiting for the right weather conditions this spring to burn the pile.
Owner Scott Moorey says the pile will probably be burning for several days and that proper burning permits are in place.
