Smoke clearly visible from 100 Mile House is from a number of slash piles.

The smoke and sometimes flames can be seen along the Exeter Road direction.

The nearest landmark is the emergency services training site.

“The District of 100 Mile House is conducting prescribed burns within the District boundaries with respect to fuel mitigation. Much of the burns are taking place near 100 Mile House Emergency Services Training Center and behind West Fraser mill in the Exeter Mckinley Rd. and Exeter Station Rd. areas. These burns are expected to take place for most of January,” according to fire chief Roger Hollander.
