Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Trans Canada Highway beginning tomorrow morning.

20-30 cm of snow is expected in Rogers Pass. The heaviest snow is expected Thursday afternoon and evening and will likely persist into Friday morning.

“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow,” the warning says. “Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”

DriveBC is also reporting that avalanche control is planned for Rogers Pass tomorrow between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. Highway closure is planned, however, DriveBC is not yet reporting at what intervals the highway will be closed during that time.
