The forecast is now calling for almost as much snow today as there was yesterday.

Environment Canada updated its snowfall warning late this morning and now says 15-25 centimetres could fall beginning this afternoon. Previously, the forecast called for 5-10cm.

On Sunday, more than 25 centimetres fell in the Nanaimo region and Environment Canada warned that a “one-two punch” of snowstorms would happen.

“This second disturbance will spread snow to virtually the entire South Coast with heaviest amounts falling tonight,” notes the latest Environment Canada warning. “Total snowfall amounts will vary across the region with 15 to 25 cm falling in most areas and the highest amounts likely on Vancouver Island and on the Vancouver North Shore.”
