Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt.
Between 15 and 25 cm of snow has hit the highway overnight.
A moist and unstable airmass will continue to give flurries to the mountain pass Thursday night and into Friday morning.
Brief periods of heavier snow are likely again resulting in further accumulations of up to 15 cm by mid-evening. The snow level is currently near 700 meters and is expected to rise to near 1000 this afternoon.
Motorists are warned that rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced due to the heavy snow.
A possible 25 cm of snow could fall at the Coquihalla summit by Friday evening.
