The West Kootenay and Boundary regions could see as much 20 cm of snow in the next 24 hours according to Environment Canada.
“An area of low pressure, skirting the B.C.-U.S. border, is forecast to spread snow into the Southern Kootenays beginning this evening,” read an Environment Canada bulletin.
“Over the Kootenay regions generally 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected tonight with an additional 5 to 10 cm on Monday.”
The snow is expected to taper off through Monday afternoon as the area of low pressure exits the region to the east, the bulletin went on to say.
