Elections BC’s North Coast office says it is aware of some ‘Where to Vote’ cards that have been mailed to addresses in Prince Rupert, directing voters to the incorrect polling station.
A Where to Vote card mailed to the residence of 1865 11th Ave. E. directed the voter to place their vote at the Port Edward Community Centre at 770 Pacific Ave., when it should have directed them to the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre in Prince Rupert.
North Coast district electoral officer Brian Roberts said that the office knows about the error.
“We are aware of that. It’s the only problem I know of and should only affect four or five residences. A mistake in geography in Victoria,” said Roberts.
The community of Prince Rupert is serviced by 13 polling stations at the civic centre on general voting day May 9, and one at Port Edward at the community centre.
