Some evacuation orders and alerts in Northwest Cariboo have been downgraded by the Cariboo Regional District.

Revised areas include Itcha Ilgachuz Provincial Park, northwestern CRD boundary to west of Nazko, Dean River Valley area, Electoral Area I boundary west to Michelle Baezaeko FSR area and northwestern CRD boundary to west of Nazko.

916 properties are affected by these changes. The community of Nazko remains on alert, however the evacuation alert on properties west of Nazko has been lifted.

Evacuation orders remain in Tweedsmuir Park area, Shag Creek area, Chutanli Lake area and Baezaeko Blackwater area. There are 467 properties still on evacuation order.

Evacuation alerts remain in the Dean River Valley, Tatelkuz Lake area, North of Batnuni Road area, Nazko area and Narcosli Creek area. The remaining alerts impact 1,748 properties.

Visit the interactive map for a more detailed look at where the evacuation order and alert boundaries now lie.

Wildfires remain active and firefighting activities continue in some areas. It is important for residents to stay out of active wildfire areas. Interfering in an active fire area will result in crews ceasing ground and air operations potentially endangering nearby properties.

Since areas remain on evacuation alert, residents must be prepared in case the area receives a future evacuation order on short notice. Information about what to do when on evacuation alert is listed below.

Residents returning to the area are encouraged to register for the Cariboo Chilcotin Emergency Notification System to receive a text, call or email regarding Evacuation Alerts and Orders.
