A rainy forecast for Friday will delay the first day of shooting for the Sonic the Hedgehog film in downtown Ladysmith.

The town made the announcement on its Facebook page on Thursday afternoon.

First Avenue between Roberts and High Street was scheduled to be closed all day on Friday from 6 am to 9 pm

Instead, film crews are moving inside to an undisclosed location and the main strip will remain open to traffic.

“All roads will be open downtown and it will be business as usual in downtown Ladysmith,” according to the town.

Environment Canada has forecasted rain for the majority of the weekend.
