District council approved $60,158 for new breathing equipment for Sooke Fire Rescue Service.

The district will buy five self-contained breathing apparatus for $46,915 and six cylinders for $10,158. The supplier is Rocky Mountain Phoenix.

A self-contained breathing apparatus is a device worn by rescue workers, firefighters, and others to provide breathable air in an immediately dangerous to life or health atmosphere.
