  • Sep. 30, 2016 9:00 a.m.

Sooke RCMP officers seized cocaine in a traffic stop on Sooke Road this week.

Mounties made the traffic stop at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the corner of Sooke and Otter Point roads, said Staff Sgt. Jeff McArthur

A search of the truck found cash, four cellphones, and 20 packets of cocaine for street level sale.

The truck, a Chevrolet Silverado, has been seized as part of the police investigation.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of cocaine trafficking and taken into custody.

“Members of the Sooke RCMP are focussed on investigating and charging those trafficking controlled drugs which bring about so much heartache with individuals and families in our community” said McArthur.
