The new Sparwood Chamber Board has just been elected, and this year’s President, Alex Millar sees a positive year.
“I feel like the Chamber is here to promote and support business in the community,” says Millar. “Our main concern is to be a facilitator for businesses. In a small community, such as Sparwood where there is no economic development office, the Chamber in a way takes on that role. My interest is to promote business activity and successful small businesses. For the income in this Valley, there is not as much small business as you would think,” he says.

Melanie Paquette, Director – East Kootenay Community Credit Union
Chris Eklund, Director – Cash Town
Tammy Ogden, Director – Teck
The new board will be sworn in this week.
