Sparwood Skating Club was very well represented at The West Kootenay Invitational Competition in Nelson on the weekend of November 29-December 1.
Eight club skaters participated in the competition in free skate, artistic, and dance events.
The skaters’ hard work during the first few months of the season showed in the successes achieved during the event. Skaters brought home eight medals in total with skaters placing in all categories entered.
The competitors have worked particularly hard on their new artistic programs, they are progressing and developing during every practice in this new discipline of skating.
Up next for the club skaters is our Christmas show & family skate event before the club takes a holiday break.
Following the break, skaters have a busy schedule starting with their next competition in mid-January, and another in mid-February. The club will also be holding its annual year end ice show at the end of February.
