Two North Okanagan men got more than a speeding ticket.
On March 28, police officers pulled over a grey Malibu that was speeding on Highway 97, near the Swan Lake weigh scales.
A marijuana odour was immediately detected by the officers and 241 grams of marijuana were found inside the vehicle.
“That’s a reasonable quantity of marijuana,” said Gord Molendyk, RCMP spokesperson.
Two 35-year-old men – one from Spallumcheen and the other from Grindrod –were arrested and taken into custody.
They have both been released on a promise to appear in court for possession of marijuana.
A speeding ticket has also been issued to the operator of the vehicle.
