The 100 Mile House RCMP responded to 86 complaints and calls for service during the past week.
Speedsters stopped
During the Easter long weekend, 100 Mile Traffic Services impounded three vehicles for excessive speeding on Highway 97.
The speeds ranged from 48 to 59 km/h over the posted speed limit.
Abandoned vehicle
On April 9, the 100 Mile RCMP located an abandoned 1985 Toyota pickup, with an inactive plate, on Highway 24.
A query of the Vehicle Identification Number indicated the vehicle had been reported stolen in the Lower Mainland in October 2011. The vehicle was seized and towed.

Ranch under attack
On April 9, unknown culprits cut the fence of the 100 Mile Ranch and ignited a grass fire.
100 Mile House Fire-Rescue was called to extinguish the fire.
Fencing staples had been modified and deliberately placed on the roadway entrance to the ranch, causing damage to two vehicle’s tires.

Stolen vehicle
On April 6, 100 Mile Traffic Services initiated a vehicle stop for a Dodge pickup truck that was exceeding the speed limit near Yale Road and Highway 97.
A database query indicated the vehicle had been reported stolen from Langley.
As the officer attempted to approach the stopped vehicle, the driver accelerated away, driving through a ditch to get back onto the highway. Other police vehicles were called to assist.
The vehicle fled east on Highway 24 when the driver observed another police car coming south on Highway 97. Police continued to look in the Interlakes area for the stolen vehicle.
The police helicopter from Kamloops was called to assist, but the vehicle was not located.
The vehicle is described as a burgundy 1996 four-wheel-drive Dodge pickup truck with British Columbia licence plate DA 0943.
