More than 100 local moms gathered at the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market this morning to participate in the annual breastfeeding challenge.
The event is held to help promote the health benefits of breastfeeding by assembling the highest proportion of breastfeeding babies at one time of any city around the world.
Doctors generally recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of a baby’s life and to continue it for two years and beyond.
Last year, the turnout of Kelowna babies was 99, and this year the number was 109.
