Still no word on sudden death in Parksville

RCMP still have nothing to report on Jan. 24 sudden death in Parksville

Police have little to say about a sudden death at a home on Sylvan Crescent on Jan. 24.

The the 55-year-old male resident of the home was found unresponsive outside the house just after midnight and was rushed to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Oceanside RCMP Staff Sergeant Brian Hunter said police are continuing in their efforts to determine the cause of the man’s death, but they have yet to come to a conclusion.

“Any time there is a sudden death it’s the police’s responsibility to determine how or why the death occurred,” Hunter said. “Sometimes it happens really quickly, but sometimes it takes a while and we are in the midst of determining that.”
