Stolen rental car turns up after two months

Vehicle pinched from West Shore, found in Esquimalt

A rental car stolen from Colwood was found more than two months later in Esquimalt on Monday.

A women alerted Victoria police to a suspicious vehicle in front of her Constance Street home at 12:43 p.m., according to the department’s operations blog.

A check revealed the 2010 Mazda had been reported stolen on Nov. 7. Police say the car keys were stolen from a residence at the same time the vehicle was taken.

The Mazda was towed to the RCMP forensic compound lot in Victoria for a closer look.
