To help enlighten the many strata owners in the area, the non-profit Vancouver Island Strata Owners Association (VISOA) will present the seminar “Strata Bylaws Explained,” on Sunday, May 24 in Courtenay.
Often, stratas try to save the expense of hiring a lawyer when writing or amending bylaws, but it is a small investment that could prevent a lengthy and costly legal battle in the future.
Justin Hanson, a highly regarded strata lawyer practising on Vancouver Island, will clear up some of the most common questions.
The seminar will also include a Q&A session, and a mini trade show of local strata suppliers.
The seminar runs from 1 to 4 p.m. on May 24 at the Crown Isle Resort. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register by May 20.
To pre-register, email seminars@visoa.bc.ca or call 1-855-388-4762. Admission is free for VISOA members who pre-register or $10 at the door.
