For parents who are looking for a great summer camp option for their 12 to 18 year-olds this summer, the choice may have just gotten easier.

Elevation Outdoors, a local charity that specializes in outdoor recreation programs, and the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs have teamed up to offer the “Intro to Adventure” Summer camp program.

These camps will run from the week of June 11 through Aug. 15 and will provide campers with three days of activities one day of sailing, one day of mountain biking, and one day of rock climbing. The camp includes all of the required gear and instruction and is one of the most affordable ways to introduce children to these outdoor sports.

Mike Greer, executive director of Elevation Outdoors, said he is thrilled to introduce this summer camp to the Okanagan,

“With so many great outdoor opportunities at our doorstep we hope to be able to help introduce young people to a new passion for many years to come,” he said.

The camps are geared towards participants who have limited or no experience and will run on the Monday/Wednesday/Friday of each week other than the week of Aug 1-5 when the camp schedule will be Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday.

“To have the opportunity to team up with the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs has been amazing. Their extensive experience with summer camps has allowed us to move forward with the “Intro to Adventure” program much sooner than we ever anticipated,” added Greer.

All proceeds from “Intro to Adventure” go to Elevation Outdoors to support their existing programs offered during the school year for local at-risk youth and their families—at no cost.

By signing up this summer, not only do youth have the opportunity to learn something new in a safe environment, but their participation helps to provide the same opportunity to those who may not otherwise have a chance to try out these same activities.  You can learn more about Elevation Outdoors at:  elevationoutdoors.ca
