The Summerland Chamber of Commerce held its annual general meeting and election of officers on March 26..
Members present also adopted a new set of bylaws for the organization.
Executive director David Hull said the new bylaws were needed.
“The previous bylaws from 2010 were so out of date and not in compliance that amendments were not practical so we started from scratch and developed new bylaws,” he said.
Major changes to the bylaws saw the elimination of the past president position and implementation of term limits for board members. The balance of the new sections was to ensure compliance with Industry Canada requirements and modern communication options for meetings.
