“It’s my way of contributing to charity,” he said. “I think it’s a very good cause.”

There are a choice of eight prizes, including a choice of seven residences in B.C. communities or $2.2 million in cash.

“None of the properties were where we wanted to live,” Delaney said. We’re quite happy with where we are, so we took the cash.”

He has made some plans for a portion of the money, including helping with his children’s mortgages, but at present he does not have plans for the majority of the funds.

Delaney was not the only Okanagan Valley winner in the lottery/

The 50/50Plus winner is C. Heinbecker of West Kelowna, with ticket 2668235. The prize amount was $832,882.50.
