Construction activity remains brisk in Summerland, according to the municipality’s most recent building permit statistics.
In January, nine permits were issued, with a total value of $2,137,000.

While the number of permits is lower than the 17 permits issued in January 2019, the dollar value is considerably higher. The January 2019 permits had a total value of $1,408,800.
The permits issued last month included two engineered buildings, worth $1,045,000, one single family home worth $382,000, one industrial addition or alteration worth $700,000 and one residential renovation worth $10,000.
In addition, one sign permit, one mobile home permit, one demolition permit and one plumbing or water line permit were also issued.
