The City of Parksville has been advised by BC Housing that during the next two months, modular building units for the supportive housing project will be moved onto the site at 222 Corfield Street South.
A total of four building units will be delivered to the site about two weeks apart, weather dependent. The first modular building unit will arrive later this week and delivery is expected to minimally affect traffic in the 200 block Corfield Street South.
Because of the configuration of the site and the nature of the building construction, there will be traffic delays for between one and three days for subsequent phases.
When lane and road closures are required for delivery, traffic will be detoured in the 200 block of Corfield Street, from Jensen Avenue East to Stanford Avenue. During these detours, access will be provided for local residents only.
For pedestrian safety, the southeast sidewalk will be closed; however, the west sidewalk will be open to allow pedestrian/foot traffic.
