Surrey firefighters took down house fire at 133 Street and 112 Avenue in Bolivar Heights at about 8:45 Monday morning.
Flames were shooting out the window of the two-story home.
“It was an abandoned house right on the corner,” Battalion Chief Andy George told the Now-Leader. “It turned into a second alarm, it was fully involved when we arrived.”
Nobody was hurt.
“It was uninhabited — it was boarded up. We’re sending an inspector over there now, trying to determine the cause.”
Neighbours told a Black Press freelancer that the home has been boarded up since a fire burned there a few months ago.
The two-alarm fire brought about 20 firefighters to the scene.
They battled it from the outside initially before entering the house to fully extinguish the blaze.
