A man from Surrey has been charged in relation to a violent incident in downtown Vancouver last Friday.
On May 6 at about 10 a.m., police allege Joon Woo Lim, 32, confronted a woman who was with her six-month-old daughter in the 900-block Beatty Street.
He allegedly demanded her purse, then produced a weapon, ripped the purse from her arm and struck her in the left leg before fleeing in a car.
He is also facing a variety of other charges in other Metro Vancouver jurisdictions during a 48-hour violent crime spree.
He was later located in Coquitlam by the R.C.M.P. and arrested.
Lim is charged in relation to the Vancouver incident with one count of robbery.
He has been remanded in custody and will next appear in Provincial court in Port Coquitlam at 9:30 a.m. on May 18.
