SURREY — Surrey Mounties responding to a report of a disturbance involving a firearm at a Newton apartment found an imitation gun.

It happened in the 7400-block of 138th Street, at about 11 a.m. Wednesday.

“There is no risk to the public,” Sergeant Alanna Dunlop said. “It was determined that the parties were known to each other and that there was an imitation firearm at the residence. One person has been transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This is still under investigation, and so far no arrests have been made.”
