SURREY — Police are seeking help to identify a “person of interest” after a fire was set in a grocery store washroom in Guildford.
It happened in the 14600-block of 104th Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Sept. 2nd.
Surrey RCMP Corporal Scotty Schumann said investigators suspect the fire was “likely started” on a paper towel.
Police have released a blurry video still of the man they are looking for. He is white, five feet six inches tall, thin, about 30 years old and wore a black winter jacket, blue jeans, black hat with a yellow brim, and black shoes with white soles.
“Although the damage was limited there was a great risk posed to the public,” Schumann said.
Police ask anyone who recognizes the man in the surveillance photo to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, and quote file number 2016-127550.
