CLAYTON — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying people involved in a “suspicious occurrence” in Clayton on Feb. 23, where a woman may have been abducted.

Police say witnesses reporting seeing a woman “helped” into a dark SUV by a man at 193A Street and 65th Avenue.

The pair then drove away. It was about 4 a.m., police say.

Surrey RCMP say they aren’t sure what happened, but that it is unclear whether the woman got into the SUV voluntarily.

The vehicle is believed to have been a newer model Jeep Grand Cherokee, dark grey or blue in colour.

“If you were involved in this event, we would like to hear from you to ensure your well-being,” Corporal Scotty Schumann said in a release. “If you were a witness or have any information regarding the people or vehicle involved, please call police as soon as possible.”

Police say there have been no reports from any victims in this case.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 604-599-0502 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or solvecrime.ca.
