Surrey RCMP seek help finding Halloween hit-and-run driver

Older-model black Honda Civic with a spoiler caused havoc on Oct. 31, sending one pedestrian to hospital

Police are still on the hunt for someone who hit a pedestrian on Halloween night just moments after almost running over a young girl.

Surrey Mounties are appealing to the public to help identify the driver and/or car that caused mayhem on Oct. 31.

A witness told police the driver of a Honda Civic might have hit his daughter if he hadn’t pulled her out of the way.

The father kicked the driver’s side door of the car.

The driver then went on to strike a pedestrian in the 13400-block of 83A Avenue.

That pedestrian was treated for injuries in hospital and has since been released.

Police now believe the suspect vehicle was an older-model, two-door, black Honda Civic with a rear spoiler. The vehicle would have passenger side front end damage and windshield damage. Mounties also believe it may have a dent in the driver side door from the father’s kick. The vehicle was believed to be frequenting the area prior to collision.

Anyone with further information is asked to call the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Team at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
