Police say a Surrey woman is dead after a tractor trailer and her car collided at the intersection of Highway 10 and 168th Street Tuesday.
The crash happened at about 4 p.m.
The woman, who was driving in the car alone, was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
Corporal Scotty Schumann said the cause of the crash is unknown at this point.
“We’ll definitely look at speed, we’ll look at impairment, and we’ll look at other traffic offences,” Schumann told the Now. “These investigations generally take upwards of a year to compile. Usually around that sort of time period is when we start getting information back from analysts.”
If there is an offence, he added, then the case is turned over to the Crown.
Highway 10 was closed between 152 and Highway 15 in both directions after the incident, as well as 168th Avenue between Colebrook Road and 57A Avenue.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 604-599-0502.
